XTERRA Kicks Off New Year at Boney Mountain

RACE #4 IN THE 2010 XTERRA SoCAL TRAIL RUN SERIES

The XTERRA Trail Run Series is heading to Southern California’s Point Mugu State Park on January 9th for its first race of the New Year. The XTERRA Boney Mountain Trail Run offers SoCal athletes the opportunity to challenge its grueling main 21km event or the 6km fun run.

According to race director Brennan Lindner, “The 21km event is the Grand Daddy of the series, not for the faint of heart, but if you dare to enter, you’ll experience some of the most scenic back country in the Santa Monica Mountains. The 6km is a great intro event with paved roads and singletrack along Upper Sycamore Canyon. “

The event field is limited, and with great t-shirts, medals and a hot breakfast to greet runners at the finish line, early registration is recommended. This will be the fourth of seven races in the 2010 XTERRA SoCal Trail Run Series, so faithful followers will be out in full force to earn those coveted points. Runners with the highest scores at the end of the season will be crowned XTERRA Regional Champions and win free entry to the XTERRA Trail Running National Championship next fall.

XTERRA Boney Mountain 21/6km Trail Run Race Information

When: Saturday, January 9, 2010 / 21km starts at 8:00am and 6km starts at 8:30am
Where: Start is in Rancho Sierra Vista/Satwiwa National Park in Newbury Park, CA
Awards: All participants will receive an event t-shirt, finishers medal and hot post-race breakfast.
Entry Fee: 21km: $65 / 6km: $40 (add $5 on Race Day if spots are still open)
