XTERRA Ends Year With Crystal Cove Trail Run
XTERRA is heading to Orange County’s Crystal Cove State Park on December 13th for its final trail run of 2009. Always one of the most popular events of the year, the XTERRA Crystal Cove Trail Run maxed out its 17-kilometer event more than a month in advance. Due to the high demand, race organizers Generic Events moved the still-open 5-kilometer trail run to noon so more people can take advantage of this spectacular and scenic off-road adventure.
The XTERRA Crystal Cove Trail Run will have runners navigating both single track and fire roads inside the park’s El Moro area. Crystal Cove State Park sits on 2,400 acres of undeveloped woodland, highlights an amazing 3 miles of Pacific coastline, and offers runners an “Away from it all” feeling despite being near one of the nation’s largest cities.
Athletes in the 17km event will be racing for the top spots and points to add toward their 2010 XTERRA SoCal Trail Run Series totals. Those ending the season with the most points will be crowned XTERRA Regional Champions and be awarded free entry to the XTERRA Trail Running National Championship next fall.
Also coming up in the 2010 XTERRA SoCal Trail Run Series is the XTERRA Topanga Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day. For more information about the XTERRA Trail Run Series, visit www.xterratrailrun.com.
