Start Thanksgiving with the XTERRA Turkey Trot

RACE #2 IN THE 2010 XTERRA SoCAL TRAIL RUN SERIES

What better way to kick off a day full of feasting than with an off-road running adventure through the trails of Topanga State Park? The XTERRA Topanga Turkey Trot features three exciting courses, the main 15km race along with shorter 10km and 5km fun runs all exploring the scenic trails at Trippet Ranch on November 26th, also known as the one and only Thanksgiving Day.

Nestled in the Santa Monica Mountains, Topanga State Park features a 36-mile trail system with breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean all within the Los Angeles city limits. It is considered the world’s largest wild land within the boundaries of a major city, so it’s no wonder why a sold-out field of more than 400 runners bolted for the finish at last year’s event.

Athletes in the 15km will be racing for the top spots and points to add toward their 2010 XTERRA SoCal Trail Run Series totals. Those ending the season with the most points will be crowned XTERRA Regional Champions and be awarded free entry to the XTERRA Trail Running National Championship next fall.For more information about the XTERRA Trail Run Series, visit www.xterratrailrun.com.

XTERRA Topanga Turkey Trot 5/10/15km Trail Run Race Information

When: Thursday, November 26, 2009 / 15km starts at 8:00am, the 5km at 8:15am, and the 10km at 8:30am
Where: Trippet Ranch in Topanga State Park – Topanga, California
Awards: All participants will receive an event t-shirt, finishers medal and hot post-race breakfast.
Entry Fee: $35 for 5km, $40 for 10km, and $55 for 15km until Oct. 18 / Add $5 late / Add $10 race day if available. Registration is limited, so runners should enter early.
