South Carolina Runners Ready for XTERRA Finale

RACE #3 IN THE 2009 XTERRA SOUTH CAROLINA TRAIL RUN SERIES

In less than a month, South Carolina runners will get on their marks, get set, and go after their chance to be crowned one of the lucky 2009 XTERRA Regional Champions. The third and final race in this year’s XTERRA South Carolina Trail Run Series takes place in the heart of Greenville and will give athletes a taste of the rugged, dirt trails of Paris Mountain State Park.

The Paris Mountain Trails 7-kilometer run, scheduled for August 8th, will be the last opportunity for area runners to earn points toward their series totals. The top fifteen finishers in each age group of this steep, narrow, rocky course will be rewarded with points. The runner in each division with the highest score over the three-race series will win the title of XTERRA Regional Champion and receive free entry to the XTERRA Trail Running National Championship on September 13 in beautiful Bend, Oregon where they will go up against the country’s best.

Then on November 7th, the excitement starts all over again as the 2010 XTERRA South Carolina Trail Run Series kicks off right where it left off in Paris Mountain State Park with a new and challenging 11-kilometer event.

Where: Paris Mountain State Park – 2401 State Park Road, Greenville, SC 29609
When: Saturday, August 8, 2009 – 8:00am
Entry Fee: $25 / $30 on race day ($5 discount to Greenville Track Club Members for pre-registration)
