XTERRA Going to Gainesville, GA for Inaugural Trail Run

RACE #5 IN THE 2009 XTERRA GEORGIA TRAIL RUN SERIES

On April 25th, XTERRA and Dirty Spokes Productions will be heading to Gainesville, Georgia for the first annual XTERRA Chicopee Woods Trail Run. This 10-kilometer event will twist and turn its way around the tranquil trails inside the Elachee Nature Center.

Since last fall, Georgia runners have been traveling across the state to “ditch the city” and compete in some of the most adventurous trail runs in the area.  With four races already under its belt, the XTERRA Georgia Trail Run Series has some serious contenders seeking the Regional Champion crowns. Seven runners have competed in all four events so far, but with three more races to go, it’s anyone’s game.

According to race director Tim Schroer, “The XTERRA Chicopee Woods Trail Run is a great single and double track off-road running experience. The terrain is rolling hills with tight, technical sections and narrow, shallow creek crossings. Runners will love this first-time event.”

Georgia runners who finish the 2009 series with the highest totals will earn free entry to the XTERRA Trail Running National Championship on September 13 in Bend, Oregon. Then on December 6, runners can say aloha to the beautiful Hawaiian island of Oahu for the XTERRA Trail Running World Championship.
