XTERRA Georgia Trail Run Series Heads for the Hills

RACE #3 IN THE 2009 XTERRA GEORGIA TRAIL RUN SERIES

Kicking off 2009 for the XTERRA Georgia Trail Run Series, the XTERRA Thrill in the Hills Xduro is back for its third anniversary. This half-marathon distance event, scheduled for February 28th in Fort Yargo State Park, creates a challenging mix of single and double track off-road trails.

According to race director Tim Schroer, “Nestled in the woods of suburban Atlanta, Fort Yargo State Park is a true gem. This course is beautiful and offers something for every runner wishing to ‘ditch the city.’” A unique combination of terrains including lung-burning climbs, gentle slopes and jagged technical sections will test runners as they travel along the 13 miles of trails. 

The XTERRA Thrill in the Hills Xduro Trail Run is the third race for the 2008-2009 Georgia Series. Runners with the most points at the end of the season will be crowned XTERRA Regional Champions and receive free entry to the 2009 XTERRA Trail Running National Championship in Bend, Oregon on September 13th. Then on December 6, runners have the chance to go head to head with the world’s best trail runners at the XTERRA Trail Running World Championship on the Hawaiian island of Oahu.

XTERRA Thrill in the Hills Xduro Trail Run Race Information

When: Saturday, February 2 8, 2009 – 8:30am

Where: Fort Yargo State Park (210 S. Broad Street, Winder, GA 30680)

Awards: Cash, medals and prizes to overall top 3 male and female finishers. Medals to top 3 male and female finishers in each age group. First 300 finishers will receive a commemorative finisher’s medal. Zorrel Dri Balance Shirts guaranteed for early registrants.

Entry Fee: 21km - $35 before Feb. 20, $40 late, $45 race day
