XTERRA Trail Runners Battle Boney Mountain

RACE #2 IN 2008-09 XTERRA SoCAL TRAIL RUN SERIES

After selling out at its first race of the 2008-09 season, the XTERRA SoCal Trail Run Series is back with the XTERRA Boney Mountain Xduro Trail Run coming up on October 25.

Taking place in the Rancho Sierra Vista National Park, runners can choose to run over their choice of 6 or 21 kilometers of beautiful, rugged scenery. The winding course will lead athletes on a grueling excursion around the sprawling trail system. The main, half-marathon distance Xduro will challenge runners with steep climbs and an 1800-foot elevation gain over just 4 miles of the course. Those finishing in less than 3 hours will automatically be qualified for the XTERRA Trail Running National and World Championships.

The XTERRA Boney Mountain Trail Runs along with the rest of the Los Angeles area events in the XTERRA SoCal Trail Run Series help benefit Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Events have been known to fill up quickly, so early registration is encouraged.

Since this is just the second race in the 2008-09 XTERRA SoCal Trail Run Series, it's still anyone's game to end up with top series' points and the title of XTERRA Trail Run Regional Champion. Series winners will be awarded free entry to the 2009 XTERRA Trail Running National Championship in Bend, Oregon next September.
