Donahue, Brooks Win XTERRA Panther Creek Trail Run(Morristown, TN) – Jeremy Donahue, 26, of Sevierville, TN and Tracy Brooks, 25, of Harrogate, TN took home the top honors at this weekend’s XTERRA Panther Creek Trail Run in Morristown, TN. Donahue, who had already taken home a first and a second place finish in the XTERRA Tennessee Trail Run Series, won with a time of 41:22 on the 10-kilometer course. More than four minutes behind him was Phil Roberts, 45, of Greenville. In the women’s race, Brooks, who took second place at the first two events of the season, finally got her chance to stand on top of the podium with her time of 48:12, six minutes faster than Nicole Howe, 33, of Maryville. Even as runners battled the exhausting August heat, the XTERRA Tennessee Trail Run Series finale was a great event. According to race director Kevin Mahan, “We had a fantastic XTERRA weekend, and the event was fun for all.” Defeating runners from six states, Donahue and Brooks cinched their XTERRA Tennessee Regional Champion titles and will be invited to race for free at the XTERRA Trail Running National Championship on September 27 in Bend, Oregon. Here, along with the rest of the XTERRA Tennessee age group winners, they will compete against the best-of-the best trail runners from across the country. From there, runners have the chance to compete at the first-ever XTERRA Trail Running World Championship on December 7 at the magnificent Kualoa Ranch in Hawaii.
