XTERRA Ends Oregon Trail Series at Tillmook Burn

RACE # 3 IN THE 2008 XTERRA OREGON TRAIL RUN SERIES

For the final race in the 2008 XTERRA Oregon Trail Run Series, race director Kevin Foreman has created what he calls "One epic adventure. The best trail course we have offered in 15 years." The XTERRA Tillamook Burn Trail Run takes the stage on August 17 at the Wood Fire Farms in Pacific City, Oregon.

Runners will travel one lap over 6 miles combining wide open skid roads, adventurous single-track sections, river crossings and even some strategically placed man-made obstacles. A wide variety of terrains will also challenge runners from steep, grueling climbs to fast, downhill descents.

Once the race is over, let the fun begin as athletes celebrate with a big BBQ, entertainment, and a day filled with family fun. The event takes place entirely inside the privately-owned Wood Fire Farms which contains two rivers perfect for swimming and fishing. Free camping is available on Sunday night for all participants to round out this adventure-filled day.

Since this is the last race in the 2008 XTERRA Oregon Trail Run Series, it will be the determining factor of who will receive free entry to this year's XTERRA National Trail Running Championship on September 27 in Bend, Oregon. From there, runners can compete in the first-ever XTERRA Trail Running World Championship on December 7 at the spectacular Kualoa Ranch in Hawaii. For more information, visit www.xterratrailrun.com.

Awards: Age group and overall awards will be given out for this event, and more than $1,000 in prizes will be provided. There is also a 5% point bonus for this event in the XTERRA Oregon Trail Run Series.
Post Race: There will be a big BBQ after the event, and free camping is available on Sunday night. A ceremony will present awards to the winners of the XTERRA Tillamook Burn Trail Run and the XTERRA Oregon Trail Run Series.
