XTERRA Voyages to Boordy Vineyards for 5K Trail Run

RACE #3 IN THE 2008 XTERRA CHESAPEAKE TRAIL RUN SERIES

XTERRA is heading to Hydes, Maryland for the most anticipated event of the 2008 XTERRA Chesapeake Trail Run Series. On Sunday, August 10, runners will gather for the XTERRA Boordy Vineyards 5km Trail Run for racing, fun, food, and of course the ultimate prize…Boordy Vineyard wine.

Set on a 230-acre farm in the countryside just 15 minutes north of the Baltimore beltway, Boordy Vineyard is Maryland's oldest family-run winery. The 5-kilometer course will lead runners through rows of winding grape vines, around 19th century farm buildings and over the shaded woodlands covering property. The rolling hills of Long Green Valley will set the stage as 600 athletes attempt to cross the finish line quickly, eager to get the post-race festivities started.

Families and friends are encouraged to bring a picnic and join in the fun, but everyone must arrive at Boordy Vineyard prior to 5:30PM as the surrounding roads will be closed to guarantee the athletes' safety.

The XTERRA Boordy Vineyards Trail Run is the third of four races in the 2008 XTERRA Chesapeake Trail Run Series giving runners only one more opportunity to add points toward their series total. Top finishers in the series will be awarded free entry to this year's XTERRA National Trail Running Championship on September 27 in Bend, Oregon. From there, runners have the chance to compete in the first-ever XTERRA Trail Running World Championship on December 7 in beautiful Hawaii. For more information, visit www.xterratrailrun.com.
