XTERRA Runners Set Sights on Stoaked Trail Run

RACE #3 IN THE XTERRA NEW ENGLAND TRAIL RUN SERIES

XTERRA returns to New Hampshire for the final installment of the 2008 XTERRA New England Trail Run Series on August 9 in Hanover. The XTERRA STOAKED Trail Run will challenge runners with 12.5 grueling kilometers of ankle-twisting, dirt-splattering adventure.

Taking place at the Storrs Pond Recreation Area on the Oak Hill XC Trail System, the event is just minutes from Hanover and Dartmouth College. The course follows the curvy path around a 13-acre manmade pond and through scenic woodlands that blanket the terrain. Runners will travel over fallen trees, mud-caked trails and loose rocks all hoping to test the athletes' skills.

Part of the XTERRA STOAKED Weekend, the trail run accompanies an off-road triathlon taking place on Sunday, August 10 to create a huge gathering of New England's best athletes.

The trail run event is the third and final race in the 2008 XTERRA New England Trail Run Series and will determine who will be awarded free entry to the XTERRA National Trail Running Championship on September 27 in Bend, Oregon. From there, runners will have the chance to compete in the first-ever XTERRA Trail Running World Championship on December 7 at the beautiful Kualoa Ranch in Hawaii.     For more information, visit www.xterraplanet.com.
