XTERRA Runners Get Ready for Xtreme Trail Run

2008 XTERRA CHICAGO TRAIL RUN SERIES FINALE

July 2, 2008 - For its final race of the 2008 season, the XTERRA Chicago Trail Run Series is pushing runners to the limits with the XTREME 12K Trail Run in Palatine, Illinois on August 9.

Runners will be forced to endure the ankle-twisting, mud-splattered course as they navigate through the Deer Grove West Forest Preserve. The trails will be lined with obstacles waiting patiently for unsuspecting athletes. This is the longest race in the series and will give athletes the ultimate XTERRA experience. Trail running is scarce across the Midwest, so this event is an exciting and unique way for "city runners" to explore the adventure of the outdoors.

Since this is the third and final event in the 2008 XTERRA Chicago Trail Run Series, this race will determine who will be awarded free entry to XTERRA's very first National Trail Running Championship Xduro that will be held on September 27 in Bend, Oregon. The top runner in each age group throughout the series will be invited to race with us courtesy of XTERRA. From there, runners have the chance to compete in the inaugural XTERRA Trail Running World Championship Xduro on December 7 at the beautiful Kualoa Ranch in Hawaii.
