XTERRA Travels to New York For Twin Lakes Trail Run

RACE #2 IN 2008 XTERRA NEW YORK TRAIL RUN SERIES

XTERRA is returning to Hurley, New York on Sunday, July 6 for the XTERRA Twin Lakes Trail Run 12k. After the first XTERRA New York Series event at Black Bear Hollow on May 24, runners are eager to get back on the trails to tackle the next off-road adventure.

The 12k run is a healthy and fun way for athletes to get back into their running routines after a long Fourth of July weekend. Held in the beautiful New York Catskill Region, the course will travel over nature trails lined with towering pines and oak trees and inhabited by a variety of wildlife.

The race starts at the Twin Lakes Resort in New York State's Hudson Valley. Runners will be challenged with the best Mother Nature can throw at them from grueling, calf-burning hills to treacherous roots and rocks. The trails are tucked away among crisp, pristine lakes and breathtaking scenery that will hopefully distract runners from their exhausting physical challenge.

This is the second of three races in the 2008 XTERRA New York Trail Run Series, and runners will be back with a vengeance to add points toward their series total. Athletes with top points at the end of the series will be awarded free entry to the XTERRA National Trail Running Championship on September 27 in Bend, Oregon. From there, they have the opportunity to compete in the first-ever XTERRA Trail Running World Championship on December 7 at the spectacular Kualoa Ranch in Hawaii.
