XTERRA Goes X-Country for Chicago Trail Run

RACE #1 IN THE 2008 XTERRA CHICAGO TRAIL RUN SERIES

XTERRA is making its way to the Midwest for the extreme, off-road XTERRA X-Country Trail Run 8K on June 7 in Palatine, Illinois.

Held in the Deer Grove West Forest Preserve, this 5-mile adventure will have runners scrambling over winding roots, loose rocks and fallen trees. The 1800-acre park will present a variety of challenges from steep ravines and water-filled creeks to wild woodlands and heartbreaking hills.

Set just outside the bumper-to-bumper traffic and non-stop bustle of city life, the XTERRA X-Country Trail Run offers runners a wilderness escape just minutes from their homes. The 2008 XTERRA Chicago Trail Run Series is one of the few opportunities for runners of the Midwest to venture outside their normal road routes and explore the calm and breathtaking trails just beyond the city limits.

The first of three races in the 2008 XTERRA Chicago Trail Run Series, runners will be aiming to start out the series with top finishing points. The athletes earning the most points throughout the series will earn free entry to this year's XTERRA National Trail Running Championship on September 27 in Bend, Oregon. Awards: Given to the top three runners in each age group. Overall winners will receive special prize gifts. All participants receive a cool-max shirt and great race packet.
