XTERRA Returns to Oregon to Wreak Havoc

RACE #2 IN THE XTERRA OREGON TRAIL RUN SERIES

XTERRA is coming back to Oregon for round two with the XTERRA Havoc at the Hideout Trail Run on May 17 in North Plains.

Within the acres of rolling green hills at Hornings Hideout, runners will travel one lap over a variety of terrain including sparkling lakes, tumbling creeks and lots of dirt. Secluded in a beautiful canyon, the XTERRA Havoc at the Hideout Trail Run is roughly 6 miles of calf-burning climbs, twisting woodlands and spectacular views.

Just 35 minutes west of Portland, the event will provide a haven for those looking to escape the bustling city beat. Race director Kevin Foreman urges runners to "come out and see how fun filthy can be." The race guarantees to provide good, not-so-clean, down-to-earth fun. Camping is also available for those wishing to get the full nature experience.

Following the race, the event has lined up Portland junkbox blues duo Hillstomp to celebrate. With their combination of guitar and…you guessed it, buckets, this music event is guaranteed to entertain athletes and spectators alike with their refreshing and distinctive sound.

The second of three races in the 2008 XTERRA Oregon Series, runners looking to catch up in the points series race or just trying to maintain their lead will be aiming to win top scores. The top finishers will earn free entry to the XTERRA National Trail Running Championship in Bend, Oregon on September 27. From there runners have the chance to race at the XTERRA Trail Running World Championship on December 7 in Hawaii. For more details about the XTERRA Trail Run Series, visit www.xterratrailrun.com.
