XTERRA REAL Race Report

Imagine riding your mountain bike on a lake bed of sweet granite packed single track twisting amongst the trees and shoreline. Well, if you were one of the lucky XTERRA REAL competitors at Granite Bay, this was reality. 184 participants had an opportunity to experience some of the finest, and most fun single track in all of the Golden State. This place rocks!

Overall winner Trevor Glavin had this to say, "The race had perfect conditions. Tight single track and it was fast. The most fun I've had on a bike in a long time".

Trevor blazed to a final finish time of 1:48:57. This young speedster has plans to race all of the XTERRA Regional Races and as many XPS races as possible. Keep an eye on him for great future results.

First place female (9th overall) went to Lesley Paterson with a time of 1:58:27. Lesley also had nothing but praise for the course and race organization.

If you haven't had the chance to ride your mountain bike or go for a trail run at this venue, you should definitely put it on the calendar as a "must do".  Come out next year and race one of the true XTERRA experiences. Fellow racer Tom Lyons summed it up with these words, "The REAL race is a true XTERRA experience. I get to come here and race with the XTERRA family. It feels great. And I won my age group and took fifth overall".
