XTERRA Kicks Off in Knoxville with Seven Islands

RACE #1 IN THE 2008 XTERRA TENNEESSEE TRAIL RUN SERIES

XTERRA is bringing extreme, off-road running to the Volunteer State with the Seven Islands Trail Run 10k on March 22nd at Knoxville's Seven Islands Wildlife Refuge.

Runners will battle their way across the challenging 10 kilometers of dirt-filled, wood-lined paths held within the breathtaking 360-acre wildlife sanctuary. But this is no stroll in the park as runners stare nature right in the face proving no amount of mud, rain, rocks or who-knows-what-other obstacles can stop them.

The first of three races in the 2008 XTERRA Tennessee Series, runners will be gunning to start their series total with top points. The stakes are high as the top finishers in the series earn free entry to the XTERRA Trail Running National Championship on September 27 and from there have the chance to compete in the XTERRA Trail Running World Championship December 7th in Hawaii.
