2x Winners Bautista & Seguin Conquer Again!

Nearly 200 Runners at the XTERRA La Jolla Canyon Legend Scramble

The rough terrain of steep climbs, creek crossings, scaling waterfalls and a rigid downhill descent at the XTERRA La Jolla Canyon Legend Scramble on November 4th was no match for the men's 18K winner Sal Bautista, who blazed through the course in a time of 1 hour and 9 minutes.  The women's 18K winner Anissa Seguin (34) was only 11 minutes short of the overall fastest time with an incredible speed of 1 hour and 20 minutes.  These two athletes won the last race - The XTERRA Boney Mountain Scramble - and are well poised to take home the title of XTERRA SoCal Scramble Series Champions.

The race for second and third place was tight for both men and women.  Following Bautista was Jonathan Toker (31) in a time of 1 hour 16 and 36 seconds.  An inch behind was Shawn St. Sauveur (28) who crossed the finish line just 11 seconds later at 1 hour 16 and 47 seconds.  For the women, second place was taken by Becky Flowers (30) in 1 hour 33 and 7 seconds with the third female, Kathy Kusner (66) just behind in 1 hour 33 and 24 seconds.
