World Championship on CBS Sunday

worldchampionship_foto1For the sixth-consecutive year the Nissan Xterra World Championship airs on CBS on Super Bowl Sunday. The hour-long Sports Spectacular is one of the largest productions filmed on Maui. More than 25 cameras along the entire course bring this spectacular event to viewers nationwide.

Underwater shots show the churning madness racers face on the 1.5-kilometer swim at Makena Beach. Film crews cling to the steep slopes of Haleakala to capture the gear-grinding climb up a section of the 30-kilometer mountain bike course called Heartbreak Hill. Joining the legion of fans at the end of the 11-kilometer trail run, camera men film the crowning moments of the day as finishers pass under the arch and etched thier names in the XTERRA history books.

Expect to be moved, inspired, and ready to take on your own XTERRA Challenge.
