Hawaiian Airlines Double Updates

The Hawaiian Airlines "Double" purse is awarded to the pro man and woman with the fastest combined 2005 Nissan Xterra World Championship and Ironman Hawaii Championship time, a feat reserved for the world's leading endurance athletes, as the two events are held only eight days apart. "The Double" has become a sought-after title by both pro and amateur competitors. Hawaiian Airlines pays $2,500 to both the top man and woman professionals with the fastest times and in addition will present the amateur winners with round trip tickets for two from the West Coast to Hawaii.

Canada's Peter Reid, who placed third at this year's Ironman World Championship, placed 14th at the Nissan Xterra World Championship to earn his sixth Double title in eight years (including the past four).

Australia's Kate Major was the fastest pro woman Double competitor. She posted the third-best time among pro women in the history of the contest with a combined time of 12:51:01.

Amber Monforte, 26 of Reno, NV was the fastest female amateur in 14:37:57.

Ryland Garnett, 28 of Seaford, Australia earned his first Double title in 11:57:22.
