XTERRA Foundation

Mission: To provide help, support, and most importantly, hope to those who are underprivileged and/or physically challenged.

Strategy: Provide opportunities to aid people in meeting and overcoming life's challenges.

The XTERRA Foundation is self-directed and provides resources specifically for the purpose of offering a helping hand to those in need. Whether it is underprivileged kids, a wounded armed forces person, an amputee, or other similarly challenged individuals. We want to help people to acquire the hope [and then the motivation] to work toward a better life. Helping to motivate people to escape poverty, recover from life threatening wounds, and overcome adversity not only helps that one person, it also helps the generations that follow.

The XTERRA Foundation will take on a number of specific projects each year, and Project #1 is to aid Team X-T.R.E.M.E., a non-profit support organization working to raise awareness and funds for our Wounded Warriors. The organization directs its focus to wounded service members of the Iraq and Afghanistan campaigns through innovation, vigilance and "Xtreme" feats of physical and mental endurance.

Specifically, the XTERRA Foundation is focused on raising funds to help Team X-T.R.E.M.E. bring a wounded vet to the XTERRA Trail Running World Championship in Hawaii on December 4, 2011.  Contributions above and beyond those direct expenses will go towards purchasing service dogs, prostheses equipment, and training for wounded veterans.

One of the cornerstones of the XTERRA mission is to "work to make the world a better place". In this spirit, we invite friends and family of the XTERRA Community to join with us to plant the seeds of hope in the lives of those who may otherwise have no hope.
