XTERRA Foundation
Mission: To infuse hope and opportunity into underprivileged and "at risk" youth.
Strategy: Provide opportunities for quality education. Introduce kids to sports, teach the benefits of a healthy lifestyle, and show them how participation in sports can help with life's challenges.
The XTERRA Foundation is self-directed, and raises funds in conjunction with XTERRA events and XTERRA Gear business operations. As the XTERRA brand grows, so too will its commitment to help make the world a better place.
- Provides high school scholarships to underprivileged kids at various institutions across the country. Award recipients must commit to maintaining a pre-determined grade point average and participate in extracurricular activities.
- Supports the Central Asia Institute for the specific purpose of building and funding schools for young women in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
- Supports the Challenged Athletes Foundation that helps people with physical disabilities pursue an active lifestyle through physical fitness and competitive athletics.
- Produces sports and other healthy activities for inner city and at-risk kids at XTERRA Championship events.
- Provides support to the Smile Train that arranges free cleft palate surgery to thousands of poverty stricken children.
One of the cornerstones of the XTERRA mission is to "make the world a better place." In this spirit, we have chosen to use our resources to provide youth with better tools for long-term success in all areas of their lives. We do this by planting seedlings of hope, one at a time...and, over time, we hope it flourishes into a forest of hope and opportunity.
