What accomplishment are you most proud of: Being crowned the 2009 XTERRA New England Trail Run Series Regional Champion and finishing 4th out of 36 in the Men’s 30-34 Age Group at the 2009 XTERRA Trail Running World Championship in Oahu, HI.

 

What’s the craziest experience you’ve ever had with XTERRA (traveling, racing or training)? Traveling over six hours, on race morning, to race in the XTERRA Muddy Moose Trail Run in Wolfeboro, NH, only a couple of days after breaking several ribs from a bad spill while training. Despite the immense pain, I was able to hang with the top 5 until the final two miles, finishing 28th. Post race, I climbed Mt. Washington and then slept in my car before heading back to NYC. Come morning, getting up was near impossible due to the pain!

 

What’s the best thing about racing? Traveling to cool places, the adventure, adrenaline rushes, meeting new people, hanging out with friends, the competition, seeing new things, and post race partying!

 

What is the coolest piece of gear you own? Compex Sport Elite Muscle Stimulator – It’s great for muscle recover and helps me get ready quickly for another XTERRA race!

 

Role model/Inspiration/Favorite athlete: Muhammad Ali

 

What do you do when you aren't training/racing? Outdoor adventure, traveling, culture, ethnic food, current events, skiing, hiking, fishing, spending time at my camp in the mountains of North Central Pennsylvania, R&B and Jazz concerts, everything Penn State, watching the Steelers, nightlife, driving fast, photography, coffee, hanging out with good friends and family.

 

Which 2010 XTERRA races do you plan to attend? XTERRA Ohio Trail Run Series, XTERRA Xduro Richmond, XTERRA Xduro Bear Creek, XTERRA Xduro Lake Placid, XTERRA Trail Run Nationals, and XTERRA Trail Run Worlds.

 

Favorite XTERRA venue: XTERRA Trail Running World Championship held in the majestic Kaaawa Valley at Kualoa Ranch, located on the northeastern side of Oahu, HI.

 

Dreaded XTERRA venue: XTERRA STOAKED Trail Run - 16km in Hanover, NH – the immediate climb is a killer!
