Rock Climb: traditional and sport; also, I play guitar/keyboards with a local band, the Defunkalators
What's the craziest experience you've ever had with XTERRA:
Doing a "Double"(Little Rock on Saturday then Milwaukee on Sunday). I broke my chain in the first quarter mile in Milwaukee and did the bike as a single speed. I came in so late after the run that I then had to immediately pack my bike and head straight to the airport. I barely made the flight check-in and ran into the bathroom to wash off the mud before boarding. People were pretending they didn't see me bathing in the wash-room of the airport. Absolutely hilarious.
What's the best thing about racing?
1. the camaraderie 2. sense of accomplishment 3. GREAT venues
What is the coolest piece of gear you own?
Michael Ward of the Wallflowers auctioned a guitar of his at the 2000 Ride for the Roses (Lance Armstrong's yearly cancer fundraiser) I bought it and had it personally signed by Lance Armstrong, Eddie Merx, and Miguel Indurain who were there as well.

Getting lost on the bike leg of the Odyssey(in the rain).
All-time best XTERRA racing moment:
Prior to the 2004 U.S. Championship in Lake Tahoe, the Kahuna graciously announced that it was my birthday. So all during the race, as I would pass people or they would pass me, would come a shout "Happy Birthday Tennessee (or Audie if they knew me). It was great. THAT is what I love about XTERRA. You feel that you are part of the 'fabric' and flow.
